A Weekend of Batman

Posted on July 23rd, 2008 in Random Guy Stuff, Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

Now that the dust from the weekend that belonged to The Dark Knight has finally hardly settled, we can all go back to our cozy little workstations and ponder on this masterpiece. Sure makes you feel glad any memory of George Clooney’s one-liners has now been erased from your mind doesn’t it?
There are enough reviews on the web, so I won’t waste your time with mine (Besides, you all know the film is perfect anyway). My movie experience was perfect. I saw Batman Begins on my laptop during my lunch break. I had a good dinner at Taco Bell. Went inside Trinoma’s THX theater a good ten minutes before the movie started — grape soda in one hand, and a large tumbler of popcorn in the other. There was just this one guy that ruined it for me.
I honestly did not know that Two Face was part of this film. […]

It was the Captain’s Call

Posted on June 25th, 2008 in Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

I was going to do my weekly post as one of the blog contributors over at FHM.com.ph, but I just had to express how I feel about this news item that I came across this morning.

A ranking official of Sulpicio Lines Inc. (SLI) yesterday said that it was the call of the captain of the ill-fated M/V Princess of the Stars whether to push through with the voyage or cancel the trip.
Engineer Edgar Go, SLI senior vice president, yesterday informed the seven-member Board of Marine Inquiry (BMI) that ship captain Florencio Marimon Sr. had the sole prerogative to continue with the voyage or not.

I know that if I were in Sulpicio Lines’ position, I would also do and say everything to save my ass as well, but is this BS the best they could come up with?
I was on my way home from the gym with some officemates last Saturday […]

Chino Trinidad’s Cliche and Bias Factory

Posted on June 10th, 2008 in Rants/Complaints, Sports Personalities & Events | No Comments »

I think I speak for everyone when I say that Chino Trinidad is a douchebag. Though I appreciate what he’s done for the PBL, his strength definitely doesn’t lie in his ability to cover a basketball game (or any sport for that matter). Truth be told, every word that comes out of his mic almost always devoid of any technical insight that can spur even the minutest of Ahhhhhh moments.
“Ramdam na ramdam ni <insert name here> sa suntok ni<insert name here> ang lakas ng buong sambayanang Pilipino”
“Yan ang lakas ng isang <insert name here>”
Quinito: I think the Celtic bench is turning out to be underrated, and the Laker bench is turning out to be overrated.

Chino: Bakit hindi nalang yung buong Lakers team?

Bakit hindi nalang yung buong Lakers team?
What kind of commentator says stuff like that on air? Though I understand the need to relate to the masses, […]

Was just reading through Pep.ph today and came across this news item. It’s living proof that every guy out there has a fighting chance. His face reeks of uber cuteness most definitely. Lol. What an ugl… okay i’ll stop now.

Abalos’ Ben’s Hamburjer Now Open

Posted on April 17th, 2008 in Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

One more case of only in the Philippines for your enjoyment.
The now famous “Ben’s Burjer” has its original home at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club where Abalos and other players in the controversial national broadband network agreement that includes First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo had met with officials of China’s ZTE Corp.

I don’t know if this is a serious business venture, or an attempt to mock the Philippine justice system. Whatever it is, I couldn’t care any less. Read the full article here.

Metrobank is ******* Down

Posted on March 14th, 2008 in Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

Since you are now on this page, I’m guessing you’re already as frustrated and pissed as I am about Metrobank. You can find more rants here and here. Well, everyone looking forward to a Saturday at the mall are just going to have to *ulp* - wait. Why? Because you can’t even troop down to the nearest branch and make an over the counter withdrawal.
Sure, you’re going to have to put off buying those shoes you’ve always wanted for a few more days (we hope), but what about the people who have to pay the bills today?
I guess the question is, how accountable can Metrobank be because of this unfortunate situation?

Posted on January 1st, 2008 in Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

I just had to repost this. From a Mac user to another, I hope you find it.
STOLEN: Macbook Pro 2.4GHZ, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD - SERIAL # W8732099X92
WHEN: DEC.23,2007
WHERE: Tagaytay City
REWARD: P40,000 for recovery and information leading to recovery
CONTACT: MARK DE LOS REYES, 0917-893-2392

Why something like this would happen a day before Christmas is beyond me. Please see full details of what happened here. I would CRY if something like this happened to me or anyone I know. A few tips when bringing your precious Macbook or any other laptop in public.

Do not leave it in the car when you’re going to watch a movie at the mall. If you have no choice, leave it in the trunk so it is not visible from the windows. It doesn’t matter where you go. That’s why you have a laptop bag.
Those who go […]

Effin’ Taxi Cabs

Posted on December 21st, 2007 in Rants/Complaints | No Comments »

It’s been more than twenty days since December rolled in, and traffic around the metropolis has just been horrible. Because of the Christmas rush (as well as the much awaited 13th month pay), the volume of people that troop to the malls increases tenfold. Hour long waits going into malls. Ten-meter-per-minute travel time on Edsa. Ugh.
If there’s one thing I’ll be glad about once Christmas is over, it’s that cab drivers will no longer be able to take advantage of daily commuters.
