I was once a very prolific blogger. I was the blog-every-teensy-detail-of-my-life, oversharing kind of blogger. While I must admit that what I write these days, mundane as they may be, definitely surpass the blabs I wrote during my prolific-blogger days, it’s still pathetic that I’m down to one blog entry per month when I used to put up an entry every day.
The problem with blogging is that you can never tell who exactly may be reading your thoughts. I’ve since come to learn that there are some things that are too trivial to be worth the bother–and there are just some things that are too deep, too special, too meaningful to share. And since my life has been full of semi-trivial and overly special, uh, life events lately, then where does that leave my blog? In a corner of the cyberworld rotting and developing its own mini-ecosystem, I suppose.
Anyway, let […]

After the 88DB blogger meet last Saturday, I had a short conversation with an officemate regarding blogging in general. The question I asked him was this — what is the essence of blogging, if the blogger doesn’t give his or her own opinion?
Before you go on and read the rest of this entry, please take note that this is just my personal stand. In no way is it the absolute truth, as with everything I have posted here.

Lately diba laging nadidisconnect or nagtotopak ang Yahoo Messenger? Either it gets disconnected over and over again or pagnakaconnect man, konti lang yung online sa list? I dunno if this trick’s out yet or if it will work on YM 8 (we tested it on YM 9/beta) but here’s how you do it anyway: press ctrl+F twice (or once minsan) at lalabas na yung totoong online list. Of course, para sa mga nagamit to ng show online contacts only. Salamat sa pinsan kong si Jomar na nakadiscover ng trick na to.

Only one more day before the Grand Theft Auto IV bomb is dropped on all the lucky gamers in the US. As for the rest of us? Well, the first review of GTA IV is already posted on IGN here. Lucky bastards. Will update this with other review scores as they are posted. In the meantime, check out GTA IV’s launch center on 1up.com.
I think the more pressing question is this — how do you top a perfect game? I wouldn’t be surprised if the people at Rockstar Games think of something.

As with everything else, sex also sells magazines. One look at the newsstands and you’ll notice that nine times out of ten, any male or female lifestyle magazine out there will have a sex related feature as one of its main cover lines. Remember the first time you laid your eyes on that partially concealed Playboy magazine in some store at the Virra Mall of old? (I once caught my cousin buying one from that store. Hah!) Sadly, Playboy Philippines is slowly destroying every bit of nostalgia that came with opening an issue of the magazine.
Macho during my high school days meant being able to bring a copy of Playboy to school without being caught. Any warm blooded Pinoy who thought Baywatch Mondays with CJ wasn’t enough just had to see her without the orange suit. While running on the beach. Okay enough now.
And then came the Internet.

It’s only the first round of the NBA Playoffs, and players are talking more than they are playing. Psychological warfare? It all doesn’t make sense to me. If adding fuel to their respective opponents’ fire (like Mamba above) is what pumps all of these players up, then good for them. Just a few comments in tagalog regarding these quotes. Mas malutong kasi.
“The way he was going, we could have put 10 people on the court and probably not been able to stop him.” - Allen Iverson from Yahoo Sports, referring to Kobe Bryant’s 49 point outburst.
Kahit matanda na si Iverson, marunong pa din rumespeto sa ibang players. Isa sha sa mga players na hindi pa nananalo na dapat manalo ng “We are the championship” ala Jun Limpot.
“Better learn not to talk to me. You shake the tree, a leopard’s gonna fall out.” - Kobe Bryant […]

For the 3rd year in a row, Men’s Health magazine will be holding its annual All-Terrain Race in Timberland Heights, San Mateo, Rizal. In true Men’s Health fashion, the event is a celebration of people who have embraced the magazine’s lifestyle. The event will take place on June 15, Father’s Day, and promises to trump the past two in terms of participation and prestige.
For those who have no idea what the race is about, you’ll be running up sloping hills instead of level paths. You’ll be biking on rough terrain and encountering steep drops as opposed to well paved roads. Do you have what it takes?
I hope I do. For the first time, I will be joining the All-Terrain Race (Haven’t decided though if I’m going to run or bike). If I find the time to bring my bike up there and train, then I would rather do that, […]
